The school newspaper is a monthly newspaper written by a team of students from the International School of Como. The students range from MYP1 to DP 1 (10 to 17 years old). The club takes place every Thursday in the High School’s art classroom, supervised by Karen Lockett, and the leader of the club, Anaïs.

 

Anaïs is a DP1 student, who created this club for her CAS Project (CAS is a core component of the DP program), She is completing her creative and service strands. She manages all articles ideas, makes sure that something can be published onto the newspaper each month, and creates the page where articles can be uploaded.

 

The students collaborate in order to come up with interesting, creative and unique ideas to write about. Then, these articles will be added to the newspaper (that is published roughly every month). The articles can be about anything, for example, we have many students who are doing fashion related articles. There are also students who have done an investigation on bullying, “Will anyone stands up for a victim who’s being bullied?”, or an investigation on what was on the school property before it was built. These are all very intriguing stories.
